Home Learning

Thank you to all those who have recently taken part in our home learning project. It has been a great success. All home learning project support the topic your child is learning within school.

Our Next Home Learning Projects

Due to the huge success of this terms Home Learning Project, we have decided to do another.     These projects are not required until the 20 Feb 17.

Foundation Stage:

Every child is to make something to do with the sea. This can be a shell, boat, mermaid or anything on a nautical themed which can be held and paraded round the block. The foundation stage will parade their project through the near by streets of the school on 23 Feb 16 (there will be a morning and afternoon parade so both nursery classes can attend).

 Key Stage 1:

Year 1 children are to make an artefact for the museum of either Dinosaurs, World War 2 or Florence Nightingale.

Year 2 children are to make an artefact from the Tudors or Romans.

The KS1 children will then create a museum with their artefact's which will be open to parents to visit on the 21 Feb 17.

What We've Done So Far:

Reception were asked to create a farm animal for our farm yard. There were some wonderful designs and ideas and animals of all shapes and sizes. The children have done fantastic and thank you to all those parents who came to visit our farm yard too.

KS1 were asked to create an Olympic Torch for the Olympic Torch Procession which took place on Thu 17 Nov 16 at 2.30pm. The torches are vibrant and bright and very sparkly. The torch procession started from the school, down Queensway Road, in front of Whites Wood Lane school and Charles Baines school and back to our school. The staff will be preforming live music from the samba band and we saw many parents and people from the local community clap and cheer on our torch bearers.
